Raleigh Garage Doors: Can I fix problems myself?
In some cases, yes, you can fix problems that cause your Raleigh garage doors to operate loudly. Adding a lubricant can help. Make sure it’s silicone based and made for garage door openers!
If you must, you can use WD-40. This will help quickly and temporarily quiet your door and help it run more smoothly. Beware though, WD-40 tends to leak and attract dirt. It can also drip on your car. In the long run, it might be more trouble than it’s worth! It might be best to have a professional Raleigh garage door guy come out and see what the problem is and get it fixed.
Should I call a professional?
As with any garage door repair, you should contact a professional Raleigh garage door expert if you have any reservations at all about fixing any damages. Also, if the garage door needs new parts or a new opener, it’s almost always imperative you contact an expert.
As a reminder, all garage door openers should be updated and made in 1993 or after. Garage door openers older than 21 years must be replaced to ensure that they’re built to the standards of modern openers and constructed with care and precision.
